Yesterday was Blue Monday, officially the most depressing day of the year. And although that specifically wasn’t my case, I did shed my first tears of the year because we waved our youngest daughter goodbye for a ski trip. She is going to make lifetime memories, but I found it difficult to let her go. As she hung a bit limp in my embarrassing tight hug, she asked me not, but really not to cry, which off course I did. Seems like a sweet picture, doesn't it.. Well I can tell you there was quite a bit of packing stress beforehand. With the checklist at the ready, she (our teenage daughter can do everything on her own) bravely started packing for her trip. Jacket check, Moonboots check, ski helmet check, ski pants…. No, no ski pants (this was Sunday so everything was closed). I can tell you, she became LOCO and if you are a mother yourself you understand that when something goes missing in the house there is only one person held responsible..., exactly, that would be me. And if you understand that, you can also guess who eventually found the pants again. It wasn't even lost to begin with, because it was just where I had put it. Anyway, as you may get, there was a cold atmosphere in our house. So you can say, with a day early, mine was a a Blue Sunday. Fortunately, I don't experience packing stress myself. There are some short city trips planned and of course I've already figured out what we're going to do, which hotspots we're going to visit and in which outfits I want to discover the city. I always keep two important keywords in mind: comfort and style. Then I start drawing up a checklist in my phone notes a few days in advance. That's so handy because when you're working on something and something comes to mind, you can easily access it to make adjustments. And because that list keeps playing in your head, you make sure everything is washed and ironed. This is a very nice tip, especially if you only travel with hand luggage! You can literally prepare your suitcase half an hour before departure. My tears have now given way to excitement as I am about to pack my suitcase for a romantic getaway with the husband. It's been a while since the two of us took a break and with the applied tips I just shared I can close the door behind me with a suitcase full of good outfits and a nice atmosphere in the house.

XO Sabrina
